Outdoor pools open across New Mexico with safety reminders

To illustrate the severity, they noted that the number of children who die from drowning each year is equivalent to 11 school buses full, with eight times that many visiting emergency rooms for drowning-related injuries.The owner emphasized the need for layers of protection, advising parents to ensure their children understand the dangers of swimming and to never jump into the water without a guardian present. They also recommended avoiding blue or light-colored swimsuits, as these can make it difficult to spot children in the pool, suggesting bright swimsuits instead.”There’s making sure you’re having a watchful eye, always keeping an eye on your kids, always keeping an arm’s length when you’re with your kids in the water. Making sure that if you have a pool in your backyard, make sure there are fences set up, that there’s gates, there’s alarms.
